How Can Shaktipat Be Transmitted? Many Ways Of Receiving Shaktipat

Updated: Mar 20, 2019

Establishing a spiritual connection, feeling a sense of purification and attaining inner peace are some of the most important benefits of awakening the Kundalini. This is why people around the world search for different methods to awaken their ultimate primal energy.

But do you what is the fastest and easiest way to awaken the Kundalini? Its Shaktipat.

What is Shaktipat?

Shaktipat is basically the process of transmitting spiritual energy from the Guru (teacher) to the disciple (student). The roots of this concept can be found in India’s tantric Yoga traditions, which explain that there is a serpent at the base of the spine, coiled three and a half times. This is what exactly is termed as Kundalini. When a person comes into contact with a leaned enlightened Guru, his or her Kundalini Shakti energy is awakened through spiritual energy transmission.

Over a course of time, the ignited energy within the person travels from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. When the seventh chakra (located in the head’s crown) is awakened by the Kundalini Shakti, the person becomes able to understand the interconnectedness of all life.

Spiritual Energy Transmission Process

Shakti, as per the Vedic texts, is the female energy, which is dynamic in nature. Similarly, Kundalini is the energy or Shakti that resides in every human being. It is awakened through Shaktipat, which begins when the Guru transmits spiritual energy to the disciple or recipient.

In the entire process, the Guru is only a mediator. This implies that the Guru acts as a bridge to let the natural spiritual energy fall upon the recipient. During this process, there is no room for superiority or inferiority between the disciple (recipient) or the Guru. In case it exists, the flow of energy would not take place.

Once the energy is transmitted, the recipient is motivated to lead on the right path.

Different Ways For Shaktipat Transmission

Honestly speaking, there are several ways for Shaktipat transmission, and depending upon the Guru you choose, the methods may vary. The Guru or realized master may use Shaktipat in the following ways -

  • Sending the spiritual energy directly from himself to you.

  • Calling the spiritual energy from the Universe so that it could work on you. The transmission of RASA Shaktipat works in a similar manner.

  • Arouse the hidden spiritual energy from inside you.

Shaktipat can be transmitted by –

  • Thought

  • Look

  • Spoken word

  • Touch

  • Mantra

The blessings of Shaktipat can be conveyed through -

  • Written words

  • Skype or any other video messaging or online conferencing software, e.g., I transmit RASA Shaktipat through Skype or Zoom.

  • Objects like a flower, a dorje or a statue

This clearly indicates that transmission of Shaktipat can take place through a variety of methods. Here, it must be noted that the transmission of energy can take place with or without the physical presence of the Guru. Listed below are some of the most important and popular transmission methods.

1. Mantra

Under this method, the transmission takes place with a secret mantra that is given to the disciple by his Guru. Both the disciple and the Guru sit together to perform sadhana (reciting the mantra). During this process, if the disciple finds it difficult to awaken the Kundalini, the Guru helps him in the same, by performing Shaktipat. The Guru places his thumb on the third eye of the disciple and the Kundalini Shakti flows from the Guru to the disciple.

2. Look

Under this method, the enlightened Guru looks straight into the disciple’s eyes and helps him awaken the Kundalini energy. It appears as if a white light is emitting from the eyes of the Guru, which enters the disciple’s eye and fill his entire being with the light. In some cases, the disciple will only feel an unknown bliss or inner glow filling his entire body.

4. Thoughts and Prayer

Through the power of thoughts and prayer, the Guru fills the disciple with inner bright radiance, removing all the darkness present in him. This approach is an indirect method and can be initiated without the physical presence of the Guru.

Although there are other methods for transmission, yet these are the most prominent ones that you can easily use. But, If you have made your mind to practice Kundalini awakening through Shaktipat, make sure you are receptive and that you gain awakening from a Shaktipat Siddha (one who is enlightened by Mother Divine’s grace).
